Hang in There!

I hope this card will encourage its recipients to continue on with our state's directive to "Stay Home, Stay Healthy!"  It seems forever since we were out and about but, since I have vivid memories of the miseries I caused by passing measles on to my siblings,  I have NO desire to pass CV on to anyone at all.  So, I'll stay calm and stay in.  (and craft!)

Here's the front of the card:-

Foliage border die  and flower - Sunny Studio
Monkey - Create a Critter

Inside:-

Vine - Tropical Scenes from Sunny Studio
Monkey - Create a Critter 2
Sentiment Wild Card  cut twice with red and once with pink

Notes to self - Cricut cut monkeys with WHITE shadow layer to make them look like die cuts.

I unfortunately stretched the vine stamp as I put it in the Misti, didn't notice and then got annoyed that the stamped and colored image would not die cut properly.  I tried to cut out six vine images before I realized what I had done.   Next time remember to fit the stamp inside the die cut BEFORE closing the Misti cover.

Always learning!   Hang in there!   Christine  : )

Create A Critter Butterfly Treats

Our last camping trip took us back to Offut Lake Resort with our good friends S and C.  While the 'boys' fished and Cocoa napped, C and I put together the June treats for the OHM kids.

I cut the butterflies from Create A Critter and we added googly eyes to the front and a mini chocolate bar as the 'body' on the back.  OK!  I admit there was some snacking going on as we worked.  We added Stickles for a little extra bling and it amused me to see that  C could not make any of the butterflies look exactly the same but kept trying different designs and patterns!  (I know how that goes - I can't do it either!)

We visited some of the parks in the area including Tumwater Falls Park where we enjoyed a lovely stroll besides the falls and fish ladders with Cocoa, as always, out in front of the group.

Thanks S for the great pic and thank you for visiting with me today. Be sure to visit She's a Sassy Lady tomorrow for my Gap Card tutorial blog post.  : )  Christine

Cars!

A few weeks ago, I was thrilled to win the Hello Kitty Greetings cart from Scrapalette's blog - Around the Block.  One of my favorite cuts is Kitty in her car and this image now graces my 'fridge.

Kitty was the inspiration for August's OHM treats.  I found the svg file for the car on the SVG Cutting Files site, but there is a similar car on 'B is For Boy' that I could have adapted.   All the cute little animal drivers come from Create A Critter.

I added a little suitcase on the back and filled the cars with candy.   Almost as cute as Hello Kitty!

I am linking my project with the 'Travel' challenge at BBTB2.  There are some great LO examples from the DT this week.

We finally finished log splitting last night and we have rows of stacked wood drying in the sunshine.  Amazingly, my one and only stack is still standing!  Our next job is to clean out the barn before it gets demolished next week.  Construction on my DH's shop (AKA the Man Cave!) starts in a few weeks and will, hopefully, keep him very busy supervising.  Lots of crafting time for me!!!!   Thanks for visiting with me.   : ) Christine

Create-a-Critter Easter Treats

Several years ago, DH and I were visiting the Yorkshire Dales (in England) over Spring Break.  It was an absolute visual treat!  Imagine wooly lambs gamboling in every field, love struck pheasants in gorgeous plumage strutting across the roads intent only on the drab female hiding in the opposite verge, and brilliant yellow daffodils in their hundreds lining the road sides - the very embodiment of Spring.  Wonderful!

Last October, we planted daffodil bulbs along the drive to our house as reminder of our trip (and our birthplace!)  and they are just beginning to open in today's lovely sunshine.

Daffys mean Easter to me and I went to the Craft Room to make treats for OHM.  You just can't go wrong with bunnies and chicks from Create - A - Critter, can you?   I used the writing feature of my Explore to write a 'Easter Blessings' on a tag for the back of the critters.  Love this feature and never need buy another sentiment stamp again.      Ha!  Just kidding!

Happy Spring and thanks for visiting with me today.  : ) Christine

"What does the Turkey say?"

We had quite the PNW rain storm yesterday but that did not deter DH from taking the drift boat out to fish on the Lewis River!  After Dinner, he sat by a roaring fire drying his rods, line, and tackle boxes while watching Monday night football and I escaped to the craft room to get this card out of my head and onto paper!

My three DGC are enamored with Ylvis and the video "What does the fox say?" (I like it too!)   I have been seeing fox cards on Pinterest and wanted to make one for J  with an interactive element.  This is my first try at a teepee card and I love that there are THREE surfaces to decorate!  I used Create a Critter for the fox and the turkey - who is on an action wobble, and the stamp comes from CardzTV.

What to do with left-over Halloween candy...

... fill Thanksgiving treat boxes!  We had a wonderful weekend with our 3 grandchildren but the house went from bright, energetic and noisy, to dark, damp and dull when they left.  Unfortunately, I consoled myself with left-over Halloween candy as I set about cleaning up.  I HAD to do something with it before it all vanished and so I made these little treat boxes for Thanksgiving.

The box pattern comes from the Silhouette store and since I just love that Create A Critter turkey, I added him to the front instead of the one that came with the pattern.  A few leaves cut from the cart at 1" decorate the top.

I am linking my little box to the challenge at Exploring Cricut where the challenge is "Cricut Choice"   Make a card, layout, or paper craft using any cartridge and any theme, but it must include 1 pattern paper, 2 cricut cuts, and 3 different colors.
